Dear 4th Grade Families, January 10, 2019
Happy New Year! I am excited to be back at school and working with your wonderful children! In 4th grade, this is the time of the year where you will see tremondous growth in your child. January through April is a time of concentrated learning. At this point in the year, your child has effectively mastered grade level skills that will help them accelerate through the 4th grade curriculum. We will work on routines and reset expectations in the following week as we gear up for this time of academic and social growth. Your continued support at home is appreciated for maintaining routines for homework and reading nightly.
I will be assigning the next monthly project this week. January and February are combined for our Science Fair Project. Your child will learn all about the scientific process and how to design an experiment. At home, they will perform their experiments, keep a scientific journal and then put together a display for the fair. I will be teaching them how to do this step by step in the classroom so that they can be successful when completing it at home.
